Hockey As Official MCPS Sport Still Long Way Off — A player on the Richard Montgomery High School club ice hockey team has started a petition for MCPS to make it an official sport. MCPS officials and club team coaches said that’s highly unlikely because of limited ice time at area rinks, the high cost of MCPS offering the sport to all 25 high schools and the school system’s lack of control over ice hockey facilities. Black’s Revamps Brunch, Launches Lunch Menu — Black’s Bar & Kitchen (7750 Woodmont Ave.) recently started an express lunch menu with $18 and $24 meal options. The Woodmont Triangle favorite from chefs Jeff and Barbara Black also revamped is Sunday brunch menu with a la carte options and a $43 buffet. [Black’s Bar & Kitchen]

Soom Food Hits Chop’t Stores — Three North Bethesda sisters who started an international tehina business now have their products in local Chop’t Creative Salad Company locations. Chop’t created a “Creamy Tahini-Harissa Dressing” to pair with its vegan Cairo Destination Salad. The dressing will be available at all 21 D.C. area and New York City locations through February.
