Gingerbread House Contest At NIH — The annual gingerbread house contest featured 49 entries and three winners that will be on display at the Hartfield Building atrium (10 Center Dr.) through Jan. 6. [NIH]

Bethesda Goodwill Dinner — Last Wednesday a host of Bethesda organizations joined for the 25th annual goodwill dinner for homeless and low-income seniors and families. More than 450 guests were served food and given gifts at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. The event was started by the Hyatt Regency, Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce and Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center and has grown to include more groups. [Ken Hartman via Twitter]

Curb, Sidewalk Work — The county’s Division of Highway Services will replace defective sections of curbs and sidewalks in the Devonshire Estates subdivision of North Bethesda. Residents can get discounts on driveway apron replacement work. [Montgomery County]
