Leggett Won’t Veto, But Also Won’t Sign Council Pay Raise — County Executive Isiah Leggett does not support the pay raise the County Council last month voted to give the next Council. But Leggett, figuring his veto would be overturned, will not veto the bill. He simply won’t sign it. Some council members have called it a political maneuver. 2014 Candidates Praise School Construction Plan — Leggett, MCPS officials and members of the county’s Annapolis delegation on Thursday promised support for a new school construction plan that would involve getting $20 million in state funding. Former County Executive Doug Duncan, who is running against Leggett for the position, commended the county officials who pulled together for the effort, saying school construction is one of his priorities. Bethesda Schools Dominate Cross Country Regional — Walt Whitman High School’s Evan Woods won the boys cross country race on Thursday at the 4A West Regional.
