Good Weather Means Good Attendance For Taste Of Bethesda

2013 Taste of Bethesda

Between 38,000 and 40,000 people walked the streets of Woodmont Triangle on Saturday during the annual Taste of Bethesda.

The Bethesda Urban Partnership’s Stephanie Coppula said the estimate is an improvement on last year’s attendance, which was between 30,000 and 35,000.

The summer-like weather certainly helped. In 2011, with wet and cold conditions, the event drew between 15,000 and 18,000.

The event last reached the 40,000 figure in 2010.

Smoke BBQ (4858 Cordell Ave.) and Share Wine Lounge & Small Bistro (8120 Wisconsin Ave.), two restaurants that opened since last year’s event, took part. So did Roof (4901 Cordell Ave.), which had its booth in front of the still under construction building it will inhabit. It’s now set for a mid-November opening.

Gringos & Mariachis, the taqueria from Olazzo owners Roberto and Riccardo Pietrobono, also offered a glimpse of its menu once it opens at 4928 Cordell Ave., the former space of Bangkok One.
