Bethesda Country Club Burglars Identified, Arrested

Remember these three?

In August, police released a surveillance video of the trio stealing food from the kitchen at the Bethesda Country Club. Police say they also stole items from the pro shop and went on a golf cart joy ride that included a collision with a wooden gate.

On Thursday, police announced the three have been identified and charged thanks to anonymous tips received after the release of the video.

All three are 17, from the area and have been charged as juveniles with second degree burglary, vandalism and theft over $1,000.

They were released to the custody of their parents or guardians.

Police say the three broke into the club’s pro shop around 3:15 a.m. on Aug. 1. After stealing items there, police say the group broke into other buildings at the club, located at 7601 Bradley Blvd.

They were charged with stealing food, drinks, athletic equipment and other merchandise.

Police found the damaged golf cart abandoned on the golf course.
