Latest MCPS Math Final Exam Results Show High Failure Rates — Overall, 45 percent of MCPS high school students in eight math courses failed their June final exams, similar to results from the fall semester that have caused concern from parents and the school system. Some rates improved, while failure rates for Geometry (71 percent) and Algebra 1 (68 percent) got worse. MCPS is examining a number of factors, including student apathy about the exams, which are factored in with course grades when it comes to passing the class.
