Major Gas Utility Work Set For Edgemoor, East Bethesda Neighborhoods

Washington Gas Company's Nebel Street propertyA number of neighborhoods in Bethesda will be temporarily without gas service in the next few weeks as a Washington Gas contractor installs main gas service lines, a process that will include replacing gas lines to each affected home.

A letter from Washington Gas sent to homes in the neighborhoods says gas service will be turned off for several hours while construction crews replace the lines.

Washington Gas hopes the projects are mostly finished by the end of September. Yards and roads disturbed by the work must be repaved or replanted to get back into the condition they were before the work began.
