Weekly Crime Report: July 8 to July 16

Someone attempted to break into the Shaw’s Jewelers at Westfield Montgomery Mall after store hours, but couldn’t get in:

An attempted commercial burglary occurred at Shaw’s Jewelers, Montgomery Mall in Bethesda sometime overnight from Wednesday, 7/10 to Thursday, 7/11. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Also Montgomery Mall-related, police say someone was apparently pickpocketed on a bus to the Mall:

A theft occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, 7/11 sometime during the victim’s bus ride from Bethesda Metro to Montgomery Mall. No further details are available.

A residential burglary occurred in the 4000 block of Glenrose Street in Kensington on Wednesday, 7/10 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

A commercial burglary occurred in the 5500 block of Friendship Boulevard in Chevy Chase sometime overnight from Monday, 7/8 to Tuesday, 7/9. Unknown entry; nothing taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 4800 & 4900 blocks of Essex Avenue in Chevy Chase. Two incidents were reported this week; one during the early morning hours on Wednesday, 7/10 and the other during the overnight hours of 7/10 to 7/11. No signs of forced entry; loose items inside were taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the Seven Locks Pool, 9929 Seven Locks Road in Potomac sometime overnight from Thursday, 7/11 to Friday, 7/12. Forced entry; property taken.

Two thefts from vehicle incidents occurred in the 6300 block of Bells Mill Road in Bethesda overnight from Wednesday, 7/10 to Thursday, 7/11. No forced entry; loose items taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 7100 block of Natelli Woods Lane in Bethesda at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, 7/1. A press release was issued regarding this incident.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9800 block of Avenel Farm Drive in Rockville sometime between Wednesday, 7/10 and Friday, 7/12. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
