Developer Hopes Renovation Brings New Tenants To North Bethesda Office Complex — D.C.-based Monument Realty will partner with investment firm Angelo, Gordon & Co. for a $10 million renovation of Executive Plaza, a two-building office complex at 6130 Executive Blvd. The offices will be vacated when the National Cancer Institute relocates to its new headquarters in Rockville. Bethesda Little League Teams Play In State Tournament — The Bethesda Little League team of 12-year-olds won its district and will play in the state tournament starting on Saturday. The winner of the state tournament goes to the Little League World Series Regionals in Bristol, Conn., which is the lead-up to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. The Bethesda Little League 11-year-olds also won their district and are 2-1 in their state tournament, which continues through Friday.
Bethesda Lawmakers Score High On Environmental Scorecard — The Maryland League of Conservation Voters released its scorecard for state legislators on environmental issues during this year’s General Assembly. Is D.C. In The North or The South? Dialect Study Takes A Look — A North Carolina State student did a study of dialects in the area to determine if D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia (technically in the South because it’s below the Mason-Dixon Line) should be considered Southern. Among his findings: There’s a clear “line in the sand” between people who say “y’all” and “you guys” somewhere just south of Northern Virginia. [WAMU]
