Weekly Crime Report: May 17 to May 25

Someone broke into a downtown Subway sandwich shop overnight and there was another string of thefts from unlocked vehicles near the D.C. line:

A commercial burglary occurred at Subway, 7201 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda on Wednesday, 6/26 at approximately 1:25 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Five thefts from vehicles occurred this week in residential neighborhoods near Friendship Heights. All of the vehicles had been left unsecured; loose items left inside were reported missing. Streets affected included: Grantham Avenue, Surrey Street, Park Avenue, Ventnor Road, and Greystone Street.

An incident of graffiti occurred at Mattress Warehouse, 6930 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda, sometime between Friday, 6/12 and Saturday, 6/22.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8100 block of Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase sometime between Friday, 6/21 and Sunday, 6/23. Unknown entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 5000 block of Druid Drive in Kensington sometime between Friday, 6/21 and Sunday, 6/23. Forced entry; property taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the 10300 block of Strathmore Hall in Bethesda between Saturday, 6/22 and Monday, 6/24. Forced entry into five separate vehicles. Laptops, car stereos, tools, and DVDs were among the items reported taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6800 block of Wilson Lane in Bethesda on Sunday, 6/23 at approximately 4:40 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A robbery occurred at the Greentree Shelter, 6301 Greentree Road in Bethesda on Sunday, 6/23 at 11:00 p.m. The suspects forcefully attempted to remove property from the victim, but nothing was obtained.

Arrested: Male, age 16, from Bethesda; Male, age 18, from Bethesda.

A residential burglary in the 8900 block of Holly Leaf Lane in Bethesda on Saturday, 6/22 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Unknown entry; property taken.
