Bethesda Republican Contemplating Run For Governor, Or District 16 Delegate — Meyer Marks is a Republican in Bethesda who is deciding whether to run for governor or District 16 delegate in one of the state’s most liberal areas. Blackfinn Burgers For A Cause — Blackfinn’s annual Burger Month will start on Friday with a special happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to benefit the American Red Cross’ Oklahoma tornado relief work. The bar and restaurant (4901 Fairmont Ave.) is suggesting a $10 donation. Until July 28, $1 from each specialty burger purchased will be donated to the Oklahoma Relief fund. [Blackfinn via Facebook]

PHED Committee To Discuss Mixed-Use Zoning — In its ongoing discussion of the Zoning Code Rewrite, the County Council’s Planning Committee will discuss commercial-residential (CR) zones, the popular form of zoning that allows apartment unites on top of ground-floor retail. The meeting will be broadcast live on County Cable Montgomery at 9:30 a.m. and will also touch on whether developers should be allowed more density in projects if they agree to increase the amount of affordably-priced units.
