Uber DC, the service that connects passengers with luxury car drivers via a phone app, today announced it is expanding its service area into Bethesda.

The company says average arrival times for drivers in Bethesda are now less than 10 minutes and it’s pitching this week’s AT&T National golf tournament at Congressional Country Club as the perfect opportunity to try the service out.

Uber set up a partnership with the tournament in which it Uber passengers can get $10 off admission if they show their Uber receipt at the main entrance. The company is also offering VIP tickets and a free ride to Congressional to someone who tweets how Uber DC helps them #ridelikeapro. (Include the hashtag to enter the contest):

We’re excited to announce that Uber is now more reliable than ever in Bethesda! Today we’re officially extending our reliable coverage area to include Bethesda and the surrounding area.

Whether you’re soaking up a summer evening at Bethesda Row or catching a round of golf at Congressional, average arrival times in Bethesda are averaging less than 10 minutes so you’ll never have to worry about catching a ride when you need one.

A map on Uber DC’s website includes its new expanded coverage area.

The minimum fare for an Uber ride is $12. Base fares are $7 for luxury cars and $14 for luxury SUVs. The company charges $3.25 per mile for a ride in an Uber car that’s going more than 11 miles per hour. It also has set rates for trips to airports in the region. A trip from Bethesda to Georgetown, for example, would run you $32, according to the website.
