Weekly Crime Report: Feb. 4 to Feb. 12

Police are looking into four downtown office burglaries that happened between Feb. 4 and Feb. 12:

Four commercial office burglaries occurred in downtown Bethesda this week:

In 7910 Woodmont Avenue sometime overnight from Wednesday, 2/6 to Thursday, 2/7. Unknown entry; property taken. In 7830 Old Georgetown Road.  No further information is available at this time. In 7979 Old Georgetown Road. No further information is available at this time. In 8219 Wisconsin Avenue. No further information is available at this time.

Police also say they tracked down a man who fled from the scene of an aggravated assault in the North Bethesda/White Flint area:

An aggravated assault occurred on Saturday, 2/9 at approximately noon.  The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon, then fled.

Suspect: B/M, 40-50, 6’-6’5”, 200-230 lbs., black ski hat.

Ten thefts from vehicles were reported this week in this Bethesda beat [ed. note: west of River Rd.] with all but one occurring during the overnight hours from Monday, 2/4 to Tuesday, 2/5.   Many had forced entry, with vehicle parts being targeted.  Affected streets included: the 5100 block of Westbard Avenue, the 5300 block of Crown Street and the 5100 block of Worthington Drive.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9900 block of Brixton Lane, Bethesda on Thursday, 2/7 between 5:15 p.m. and 8:40 p.m.  Forced entry; property taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred overnight from Wednesday, 2/6 to Thursday, 2/7 in this Bethesda beat.  Vehicle parts were taken from vehicles parked in residential lots, one on Pooks Hill Road and one on Bristol Square Lane.

A robbery/assault occurred in the 7100 block of Whittier Boulevard, Bethesda on Friday, 2/8 at approximately 7:45 a.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Arrested: Male, age 16, from Bethesda.
