Md. man charged with human trafficking, prostitution

WASHINGTON – After a months-long police investigation, a Takoma Park man has been charged with human trafficking and prostitution.

Annapolis police charged Freddy Leguisamon, 27, after an investigation revealed he was driving women to various locations around Annapolis for the purposes of prostitution.

Police executed three search-and-seizure warrants since May at addresses in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County and Prince George’s County.

Leguisamon would advertise his business through cards handed out to prospective clients, police say.

The women working as prostitutes were mostly Hispanic women, some of whom were in the country illegally working to pay off debts they or their families owed.

Leguisamon would make deliveries to as many as 20 houses a day, five days a week, police say. His clients were mostly Hispanic men.

He has been charged with 54 counts of general prostitution, eight counts of receiving compensation from human trafficking, five counts of taking another to a place for the purpose of human trafficking and four counts of operating a prostitution business.

Leguisamon is currently detained at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
