WASHINGTON – Montgomery County Police officers handed out flyers to drivers on Maryland 124 and Rickenbacker Drive on Friday in their latest attempt to catch a man they say raped a woman in Green Farm Conservation Park on Monday.

The attack happened just after 5 p.m., when police say the man approached a 21-year-old woman from behind with a knife, and sexually assaulted her.

Montgomery County Police Spokesman Paul Starks wouldn’t say if they’ve received any leads on finding the suspect, but they’re hoping to get some help from the community.

“We’re hoping someone saw something Monday afternoon, and may not even realize it. They can contact us, give us some information. It may help us close this case sooner,” Starks says.

They’re looking for a Hispanic man, in his late teens to early 20s, between 5 feet 4 inches and 5 feet 7 inches and weighing between 120 and 140 pounds.

There’s a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division at (866) 411-8477, or (240) 773-8477.
