Teachers exchange blows at Mont. Co. middle school

WASHINGTON – Two teachers got into a fist fight in front of students on Friday at Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown, officials say.

School spokesman Dana Togig says the fight was between two physical education teachers. The teachers have apologized to each other and to the school principal.

Tofig calls the incident, “completely unacceptable.”

“We did send a letter home to parents to let them know it had happened since it had been witnessed by a couple of students and, of course, started getting talked about within the school,” Tofig says.

The incident is a personnel issue and a letter was sent home to parents explaining what happened.

It’s not clear why the two got into the fight.

“Physical altercation is not a way to solve problems. We need to model that behavior, and in this instance that did not happen.
