Flames’ Sam Bennett to have shoulder surgery

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — The Calgary Flames said Thursday that rookie center Sam Bennett needs shoulder surgery and is expected to be sidelined four to six months.

The 18-year-old Bennett, the fourth overall draft pick this year, had 36 goals and 55 assists in 57 games last season for the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League.
