Summers signs on for 2 more years with Coyotes

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes have signed defenseman Chris Summers to a two-year contract extension.

Terms of the deal were not released.

The 26-year-old Summers played 18 games for the Coyotes this season, scoring two goals with an assist. He also had two goals and seven assists in 48 games with the Coyotes’ AHL affiliate in Portland, Maine.

Summers was drafted with the 29th overall pick in the 2006 NHL draft and has appeared in 47 career NHL games.
