Juan Uribe to manage Dodgers on Sunday

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Don Mattingly is giving himself a day off in the Dodgers’ regular-season finale against Colorado on Sunday and will have 35-year-old infielder Juan Uribe manage Los Angeles.

With Los Angeles having clinched the NL West title, Mattingly said Saturday he will have ace Clayton Kershaw serve as pitching coach in place of Rick Honeycutt.

In 2009, then-Dodgers manager Joe Torre had backup catcher Brad Ausmus manage the team in the season finale. Ausmus guided the Dodgers to a 5-3 win over the Rockies and currently is in his first season as manager of the Detroit Tigers.
