MIAMI (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks promoted right-hander Bradin Hagens from Reno on Thursday and optioned left-hander Andrew Chafin to the Triple-A club.
The 25-year-old Hagens is 8-7 with a 4.12 ERA in 25 games this season for Reno and Double-A Mobile.
The 24-year-old Chafin made his major league debut Wednesday night in Cleveland, starting and throwing five scoreless innings in Arizona’s 1-0, 12-inning victory in the second game of a doubleheader. In 23 starts this season with Mobile and Reno, he’s 8-6 with a 3.96 ERA.
