1 man dead, another injured in Md. double-shooting

ELKTON, Md. (AP) — The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal double-shooting in the town of Elkton.

The sheriff’s office said Thursday that deputies responded to a shots-fired call Wednesday night. They found a man who had been shot multiple times in an Elkton neighborhood and rushed him to a hospital in Newark, Delaware. He’s expected to survive.

Shortly after at a nearby home, deputies found a man inside, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s office says the men were specifically targeted but declined to say why. They didn’t immediately know how the men knew each other, but said neither of them lived in the home.

No arrests have been made.

Elkton is at the northern headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay and is half-way between Baltimore and Philadelphia.
