2 arrested trying to get through BWI with guns

BALTIMORE (AP) — Authorities say two people were arrested at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport this week because loaded guns were found in their carry-on luggage.

Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein says officers caught a man Thursday with a 9 mm handgun loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition. The firearm had allegedly been reported stolen in Portland, Oregon.

Farbstein says on Friday, a woman was arrested after officers found a loaded 38 special handgun in her carry-on bag

A spokesman for the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, 1st Sgt. Jonathan Green, identified the man as Dwight Tennyson of Upper Marlboro. He was ticketed to fly to Detroit.

Green identified the woman as Rosane Strickland Coulon of Maxton, North Carolina.

An online court record system did not list an attorney for either Tennyson or Coulon.
