Claybaugh leaving Gannett’s Delmarva Media Group

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) — Gannett Co. has promoted Tom Claybaugh from leadership of the Delmarva Media Group to publisher and president of Gannett Central New York Media.

The Delmarva group includes The Daily Times of Salisbury. Claybaugh has been in charge since 2012.

Gannett Central New York Media publishes the Press & Sun-Bulletin in Binghamton, the Star-Gazette in Elmira and The Ithaca Journal. Claybaugh takes over Sept. 1, replacing the retiring Sherman Bodner.

Tom Donovan, Mid-Atlantic Regional president of the Gannett East Group, made the announcement Thursday to the Salisbury staff.

McLean, Virginia-based Gannett hasn’t named a permanent replacement in Salisbury. The Daily Times reports (http://delmarvane.ws/1BhCcue ) that Bill Janus, general manager of the Courier-Post in New Jersey, will help oversee Delmarva Media Group’s advertising operation. The news management team will remain in place.
