ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Prosecutors say they have dropped charges of neglect and child abuse against a couple found living on a squalid sailboat with their two teenage sons.
John and Sherri Kelly were arrested in February after authorities boarded the 28-foot sailboat on the Magothy River.
Officials said they found the family of five, including an adult son, and two dogs living in a 9-by-10-foot space with no electricity, heat or running water and the bow was filled with trash.
Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess told The Capital of Annapolis (http://bit.ly/1obH7sQ) on Tuesday that an investigation by Child Protective Services led to all charges being dropped in the case.
