WOODLAWN, Md. (AP) — The battle for the Democratic nomination for governor of Maryland is intensifying over the state’s badly flawed health exchange website.
Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, Attorney General Doug Gansler and Del. Heather Mizeur debated Thursday on WOLB-AM.
Brown says while there were technical problems, the state exceeded its 260,000 enrollment goal when Medicaid enrollments are included.
But Gansler says Brown is the only person who is calling it a success. He says Brown “ran away” from the problem.
Brown said Gansler had some responsibility for the rollout, too. He says Gansler’s office helped scope out the procurement process for vendors and that it was Gansler who sat on the sidelines.
Mizeur avoided talking about the health exchange problems. Instead, she spoke of health care initiatives she worked for as a delegate.
