Suspect sought in fatal hit-and-run, reward offered

WASHINGTON – Police are looking for a D.C. Man after a fatal crash on Dec. 7 in Capitol Heights.

Prince George’s County Police say Ronald Jerome Hayes Jr was being chased by officers Saturday after reports of shots fired. While speeding away with the car headlights turned off he hit a minivan at Hill Road and Central Avenue.

The driver of the minivan, 23-year-old Brittney Everett of D.C. and a passenger, 21-year-old Brittney Queen of Capitol Heights, died.

Four others in the minivan were hospitalized. Hayes’ passenger was also hospitalized while Hayes himself ran from the scene after the crash.

Hayes is charged with vehicular manslaughter, negligent manslaughter, theft and traffic charges. There is a cash reward for information leading to Hayes’ arrest and indictment.
