Company launches new water taxi from National Harbor to National Mall

Potomac Riverboat, the company that offers a water taxi from National Harbor to Alexandria among other water transportation services, has launched a new taxi route between National Harbor and the National Mall.

The water taxi debuted Aug. 31, beginning in National Harbor, stopping at the Georgetown waterfront and ending near the National Mall.

The taxi is available on the company’s newest vessel, the Miss Sophie, which holds 49 passengers. It docks at the commercial pier next to McCormick & Schmick’s in National Harbor, at Washington Harbour in Georgetown and ends up at the dock at West Basin and Ohio drives SW.

The boat leaves National Harbor five times per day Tuesday through Sunday. Departures from the multi-use hospitality and entertainment development are at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Potomac Riverboat Co. also offers water taxi service to Washington Nationals Stadium via the “Baseball Boat,” which transports ticket holders to the stadium in Southeast D.C. from Alexandria and National Harbor.
