Low-speed school bus collision sends 25 to hospital

WASHINGTON – Two school buses collided Tuesday afternoon sending as many as 22 students to the hospital with bumps and bruises.

Prince George’s County Fire spokesman Mark Brady says one bus rear-ended the other. He described it as a “low-speed collision.”

The crash between the two James Madison Middle School buses occurred in the 13200 block of Old Marlboro Pike in Upper Marlboro about 4:30 p.m., fire officials say.

One student sustained a bloody nose but there were no serious injures, Brady says.

Three adults were taken to the hospital in addition to the 22 students, Brady tweeted.
