Arrest made in 2013 Davidsonville homicide

UPDATE – Sunday – 9/28/2014, 8:48 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON — On Monday, the Anne Arundel County police department will announce the arrest and indictment of a suspect in the March 2013 murder of Nicole Burgess in her Davidsonville home.

Burgess and her dog were stabbed to death. The arrest announcement will be made at 11 a.m. Monday at the Anne Arundel County Police headquarters.

UPDATE – Saturday – 3/30/2013, 1:10 p.m. ET

The cause of death for both the woman and the dog was homicide by multiple stab wounds, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. The dog was a pit bull mix.

EARLIER – Saturday – 3/23/2013, 1:30 p.m. ET

DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. – Anne Arundel County police say a woman and a dog were found dead in a Davidsonville home.

Police say the bodies were found about 11:30 a.m. Friday in the 3300 block of Royal Glen Court by two people who went to the home. Police say there were signs of trauma on the woman’s body and they are describing her death as suspicious. Authorities say homicide detectives are investigating.

The woman was identified as 37-year-old Nicole Burgess.
