4 pedestrians hit, injured in Anne Arundel

UPDATE: Friday – 1/11/2013, 10:52am ET – Anne Arundel County Police say a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man have been discharged from a hospital following the crash.

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman remain hospitalized in stable condition Friday.

Police say a Saturn Vue turned left from Quarterfield Road onto the Route 100 East ramp and hit the four pedestrians, who were crossing the ramp on Quarterfield.

Police say there were no streetlights or crosswalk where the group crossed, and that pedestrian error may have played a role in the crash.

Previous Story: WASHINGTON – Two people suffered serious injuries when they were struck by a vehicle as they crossed an Anne Arundel County road Thursday afternoon.

Anne Arundel County Police say two adults and two juveniles were injured in the crash. Two of the victims face life-threatening injuries and the other two were also taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Police did not release the ages or names of the victims.

Police say the group was crossing Quarterfield Road at or near an entrance ramp to 100 East when they were hit about 5:30 p.m.

The driver remained at the crash scene but police released no additional information about the driver.
