LANDOVER, Md. – An Amber Alert for a 9-year-old boy taken from a Prince George’s County school has been canceled. Wuilbert Caceres Garcia was found in Nevada and is safe.

He was taken from Dodge Park Elementary School in Landover by his mother, Silvia Guadalupe Garcia, Thursday morning. She does not have custody, but she told the school the boy had a doctor’s appointment.

When the Garcia’s father came to pick him up around 3 p.m., school officials realized the boy had not returned to school. They say they were not told of the recent changes to custodial arrangement.

Maryland State Police issued the alert alert at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The child was found about 3 a.m. with his mother, Silvia Guadalupe Garcia, at an airport in Reno, Nev., according to Briant Coleman, a spokesman for Prince George’s County schools. His mother has been arrested.
