Man killed after being hit by car in Maryland

BOWIE, Md. (AP) — A man has been killed in Prince George’s County after being hit by a car.

Police say 41-year-old Victor Ramos-Carino of Lanham was trying to cross a street near a commercial strip near Bowie on Sunday night when the car hit him. When police arrived, they found Ramos-Carino lying in the roadway with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say the preliminary investigation shows that Ramos-Carino was not in a crosswalk when he was hit.

Police say the driver of the car that hit the man stayed at the scene and was cooperative.
