CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Troopers and police officers from New York and eight other states are competing this weekend in a charity softball tournament being held outside of Albany.

The New York State Police is hosting the 13th annual East Coast Women’s State Police Charity Softball Tournament in Clifton Park.

Teams of state troopers and officers from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, Connecticut, Maryland, North Carolina, and Delaware will be competing Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament is a fundraiser for the Double H Ranch and the New York State Troopers Signal 30 Fund.

The ranch in Lake Luzerne, co-founded by the late actor Paul Newman, provides specialized programs and support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses.

The Signal 30 Fund supports the members of the New York State Police and their families.
