Special Olympian, Obama share hug on stage (Video)

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama honored Special Olympians Thursday at the White House and one of the most touching moments from the day came during an embrace the commander in chief shared with an audience member.

Tim Harris, a Special Olympian and business owner, was at the event. During a speech, Obama made mention of Harris’ inclination to hug customers at his Albuquerque restaurant, according to USA TODAY.

“Tim, I didn’t get a hug … Come on, man,” Obama joked.

That’s when Harris came up on stage and hugged the president.

“I love you, Obama,” Harris said.

“I love you back,” Obama said. “You know, presidents need some encouragement once in a while, too. That felt really good. That was nice. Thank you, Tim.”
