Horticulture operation expanding in Waynesboro

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Waynesboro horticulture operation is expanding and will create 98 new jobs.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Friday that Bloomaker USA Inc. will invest more than $2 million to build a new greenhouse.

McAuliffe says the company has developed longer-lasting tulips and amaryllis flowers and anticipates that annual sales will grow from $10 million to more than $25 million in five years.

The state is partnering with Augusta County and Bloomaker on the project through a $50,000 grant from the Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund.
