Advance Auto to bring 600 corporate jobs in NC

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina officials say Advance Auto Parts will relocate some top managers and support jobs to Raleigh and employ 600 workers at a corporate support center by the end of 2017.

Gov. Pat McCrory’s office said Wednesday the Roanoke, Virginia, based company could get more than $17 million in tax breaks over 12 years if it meets hiring and investment targets. The average salary for the jobs will be about $110,000 a year.

Advance Auto Parts in January completed its purchase of Raleigh-based General Parts International Inc., creating North America’s largest auto aftermarket parts supplier.

Advance Auto Parts Chief Executive Officer Darren Jackson said Raleigh will join Roanoke as a major site for corporate operations.
