Health care system to break ground on new building

BALTIMORE (AP) — Compass Pointe Healthcare System has begun construction on its new Baltimore-based national headquarters.

The company is holding a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday.

Locally, Compass Pointe manages three assisted-living communities. They include Symphony Manor in Baltimore, Woodholme Gardens in Pikesville and Tranquility of Fredericktown in Frederick.

The new building is expected to be complete by May 1, 2015. The four-story building will then provide accounting, financial and other healthcare support services for the company, which employs 8,000 employees across the country and serves more than 10,000 customers.
