NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — More than 60 Wounded Warriors are waiting to hear whether they are chosen to be on Team Navy for the 2014 Wounded Warrior games.

The wounded, injured and ill sailors and Coast Guardsmen spent the week in Norfolk for team trials. About 40 sailors will be chosen for the team.

Team Navy will compete against Wounded Warrior teams from the other branches later this fall in Colorado. This fall, some of those Navy sailors will be chosen to participate in the inaugural Invictus Games in London to compete against other nations.

The military says Wounded Warriors who participate in adaptive sports have higher morale and are able to perform physically better to aid in their recovery.
