Woman indicted for interfering with flight crew

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Fresno, California, woman has been arraigned on federal charges that her unruly behavior prompted a Delta Air Lines flight to divert to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in February.

Thirty-four-year-old Brandi Kristine Poulsen was indicted on three counts of interference with a flight crew and attendants and one count of assaulting a fellow passenger.

Prosecutors say Poulsen was aboard Flight 1189 from Baltimore bound for Salt Lake City on Feb. 7 when she allegedly threatened crew members and assaulted one crew member and a passenger.

The flight was diverted to Minneapolis, where airport police removed her. The flight then continued to Salt Lake City.

A phone message left for Poulsen’s public defender in Fresno was not immediately returned Wednesday.
