GW picks new dean of its business school

WASHINGTON (AP) — George Washington University has a new dean of its business school.

The school said Tuesday that it has hired Linda A. Livingstone, who will start in her position in August.

Livingstone has for the last 12 years served as the dean of the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University in California and was the first female dean of Pepperdine’s business school.

Livingstone earned her bachelor’s degree and MBA from Oklahoma State University and also holds a doctorate degree from the school.

George Washington University’s previous business school dean, Doug Guthrie, was fired from that role in August 2013. The school’s provost had said there were disagreements over how to control the business school’s spending moving forward.
