13-year-old Suffolk boy charged in sexting case

SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) — A 13-year-old Suffolk boy faces charges of obtaining nude photos of a girl and then using the images to coerce her into performing a sex act.

The Virginian-Pilot (http://bit.ly/1tNtG1a) reports that a female student at John F. Kennedy Middle School told police she sent nude photos of herself to the boy. He threatened to send the photos to his friends if she didn’t do what he wanted. The girl said she was coerced into performing oral sex on a school bus on April 10.

Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney James Wiser says the boy has been charged with felony aggravated battery and production of child pornography.

A school system spokeswoman, Bethanne Bradshaw, says the boy was recommended for expulsion. A pupil personnel committee decided to transfer him to an alternative education program.
