Police: Woman attacked in Glover Park

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a man who they say attacked a woman in the Glover Park area of Northwest early Saturday morning.

ABC7 reports that the woman, a 19-year-old waitress, had just gotten off work and was walking on Wisconsin Avenue, between Observatory Lane and Calvert Street, when a man grabbed her and tried to make her perform a sex act in an alley. She broke free and ran for help.

The area is known to be bustling, even at night, so many neighbors were surprised to hear the news, ABC7 reports.

While police haven’t released a description of a suspect, NBC Washington reports that the suspect was a customer at the place the woman worked that night.

Also, they say detectives spent Monday in the neighborhood, looking for surveillance video of the incident or the suspect.
