Va. girl charged with tainting teacher’s bottle

ONLEY, Va. (AP) — A 13-year-old Accomack County girl faces charges of tainting a teacher’s water bottle.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office says the teacher at Nandua Middle School in Onley left the bottle unattended in her classroom. The girl is accused of adding a foreign substance to the bottle.

The sheriff’s office tells the Eastern Shore News (http://delmarvane.ws/RVkU3c ) that the teacher became ill she drank the water.

The girl is charged with adulteration of food, drink, drugs, cosmetics.

Police didn’t identify the girl or the teacher, or say what the substance was.

Accomack County interim School Superintendent Rhonda Hall says the incident is under investigation. She declined to provide details.
