D.C. cop charged with assaulting girlfriend

WASHINGTON — A D.C. police officer is facing charges for allegedly attacking and threatening to kill a girlfriend.

ABC7 reports that Calvin Willis, who is married, is accused of attacking a 25-year-old girlfriend with whom he supposedly has two children and is expecting a third.

Willis and the girlfriend have been together for 10 years, since the girlfriend was 15, court documents say.

He allegedly attacked the woman on Sunday afternoon, then again in the early morning hours of Monday, taking his wife to a wedding in between.

In the second attack, Willis allegedly slammed the woman against a wall hard enough that the wall was damaged. When the woman got a knife to defend herself, Willis reportedly told her that he would call the poice himself, and that he would be believed because he’s a police officer.

Willis is charged with threat to kidnap or injure a person, ABC7 reports. He is due in court on Friday morning.
