WASHINGTON — South Carroll High School in Sykesville, Md., was on lockdown following a threat that was phoned in to the school.
School officials told the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office an anonymous person called at around 2 p.m. with threats that “included language that suggested there would be a shooting and chaos,” according to an email.
City, county and state police headed to the scene to investigate. At about 9:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office said, they determined that “this threat does not appear to be credible at this time.”
There were no injuries. Police found one student with a “personal-use quantity” of marijuana and have filed charges against her.
