WASHINGTON – It’s been a year since two 18-year-old men were shot and killed in Forestville, and loved ones and police hope you can help solve the case.

Aaron Kidd, of District Heights, and Andre Shuford, of Forestville, were shot along Donnell Drive in the Forestville area on Feb. 19, 2013.

No arrests have been made, and police say they don’t have any information about a possible motive or suspects that they can release to the public at this point.

“But we want to let the family and friends know that we have not forgotten about the victims in this particular case,” says Cpl. Nate Lewis, with the Prince George’s County police. “Detectives are working and continuing this investigation.”

Kidd’s mother says her son had a good heart and no enemies that she knew of.

“I struggle with this every day of my life,” Theresa Williams tells WTOP.

“I have not been able to go into his room. I haven’t moved anything in his room, so It’s been hard. It’s been really, really hard for me,” she adds.

At a candlelight vigil held Wednesday night at the crime scene, youth pastor Marcell Osharris, of New Life Praise Temple Ministries, urged the victims’ friends to stay on the right path and make the best of their lives.

“I don’t know if I’m talking to the next Barack Obama, but I would say, you have the power to make it.”

Michael Owen, another New Life Praise Temple Ministries youth pastor and friend of the family, urged people to break their silence and share what they know about the case.

“If there’s anybody out there that knows anything, that knows somebody that knows something, forget about that snitching stuff, because all that stuff goes out the window.”

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for tips leading to an arrest and indictment.
