Reward offered for info on cat shot in shoulder with arrow

WASHINGTON – The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons available for shooting a 2-foot-long arrow into a cat near Davidsonville, Md.

Anne Arundel County Animal Control is investigating this case and asking anyone with information on it to call 410-222-8900 or 410-222-8610

WASHINGTON – Police are looking for the person responsible with shooting a cat in the shoulder with an arrow in the Davidsonville area.

Anne Arundel County police say the cat, “Xena,” who is believed to be about 2- years-old, lived in the 3000 block of Riva Road.

On Wednesday, the owner found the cat shot in the left shoulder with a two-foot arrow.

Xena was scared and wasn’t caught until Friday around 12 p.m.

The owner surrendered custody of the cat to Animal Control officers.

With help from Rude Ranch Animal Rescue in Harwood, Md., the cat was treated at Belair Veterinary Hospital in Bowie, Md.

Xena was released Saturday and continues to recover at Rude Ranch Animal Rescue.

Anyone with information that may lead to finding the person(s) responsible for Xena’s condition is asked to contact Anne Arundel County Animal Control at 410- 222-8900 or the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 410-222-8610.

Anne Arundel County Animal Control would like to remind citizens if they are having an issue with a domestic animal on their property there are humane methods of resolving the issue.
