Five D.C. firefighters reassigned after Facebook post

WASHINGTON – Five D.C. firefighters have been placed on desk duty after one of them made a Facebook post that criticized the D.C. police.

According to News4, the post, since removed, includes a picture taken by a firefighter of a D.C. police officer, who has just given the firefighter a parking ticket, walking back to his patrol car. The post, News4 reports, also includes words to the effect of “This is why we should be careful and take our time getting to incident scenes.”

The top brass at the police and fire departments, according to News4, believe the post is in reference to an incident in March in which a police officer waited 20 minutes for an ambulance after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.

The firefighter who made the post, and four others who commented on it, were transferred to desk duty immediately.
