Triple shooting in D.C., responding officers crash cruiser

WASHINGTON – D.C. police are investigating a triple shooting on Eastern Avenue that occurred Thursday evening.

Additionally, a D.C. police cruiser collided with another vehicle while responding to the incident, sending two officers to the hospital.

The shootings happened just before 7 p.m. near the corner of Taylor and 22nd streets NE.

D.C. police say the victims included a man and two male juveniles. They were taken to a local hospital but their conditions weren’t immediately known.

The car crash occurred when a police cruiser carrying two officers collided with another vehicle just before 7 p.m. at the corner of South Dakota Avenue and 26th Street NE.

One officer was trapped and had to be taken to a local hospital. The other suffered minor injuries.

The information about injuries to passengers of the other vehicle was not immediately available.
