ADOPTED! Pet of the Week: Diego, Chihuahua mix

UPDATE – Tuesday, 5/21/2013, 10:30 a.m. ET

WASHINGTON – Diego has been adopted.

WASHINGTON – WTOP Living is partnering with the Washington Animal Rescue League to feature a Pet of the Week available for adoption. Meet this week’s pet below.

Name: Diego

Age: 5 years old

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Bio: How can you resist those eyes? Or those ears, for that matter? They belong to Diego, who arrived at the Washington Animal Rescue League from Kuwait in early March.

Despite the upheaval and stress of a long journey, this 5- year-old Chihuahua mix has settled in well at the shelter. He has shared a den with several other small dogs who, one by one, have been adopted.

Diego is hoping that his time has finally come.

He’s a sweet, affectionate little guy, who prefers attention to toys. He’ll climb into your lap and solicit petting with a gentle paw, giving little doggy kisses in return. He’d make a terrific TV-watching partner.

Because of his small size and delicate frame, Diego is looking for a home with adults only or children over the age of 10. Like most dogs, he would benefit from a basic manners class.

Could Diego be the dog for you? Come meet him at the Washington Animal Rescue League and find out!
